Merino Wool & Craft
The Observer is made from Italian-spun extra-fine merino wool selected for its softness, breathability, and durability. At 19.5 microns, the fibres are less than a fifth the diameter of a human hair, giving the fabric its smooth, gentle feel when worn directly on the skin.
Working with fibres this fine requires specialist skill. The wool is sourced from Piedmont in northern Italy, from a spinner established in 1817 that works exclusively with ethically farmed, non-mulesed sheep. The result is a yarn that remains refined while standing up to regular wear.
The garment is made as a fully fashioned knit in Portugal, shaped panel by panel rather than cut from fabric. This method produces cleaner lines, a more precise fit, and a knit that maintains its structure over time, even with frequent use.
