The Observer
A study in natural light.
From a mill spinning since 1817
The Observer begins with yarn from Lanerossi, a mill with a lineage dating back to 1817, known for its long-standing focus on responsibly sourced, non-mulesed wool.
Wool fineness is measured in microns. While standard merino typically falls between 21 and 24 microns, this piece is knitted from a finer 19.5-micron yarn, chosen for its softer hand and its ability to sit comfortably against the skin without irritation. The knit is set on a fine 16-gauge structure, giving the surface a smoother, more refined handle.
Each garment is fully fashioned in Portugal, with panels knitted to shape. They are then hand-linked, loop by loop, ensuring continuity across every seam.
The result is a cleaner line and a more natural drape, with less bulk through the seams.
Finally the piece is dyed after construction, allowing the colour to settle with subtle depth and uniformity throughout the garment.
These are decisions made with longevity in mind, revealing their value not in the first moment, but in the rhythm of continued wear.
Why we make one piece, and make it well.
